- Located on the island of Jeju in South Korea lies the unique design for an architectural marvel known as the ‘Cocoon House’. The House features an outdoor pool overlooking the sea, a conference zone, a small library, and a rooftop garden. But what stands out above all else is the white cocoon structure located near the center of the house. The condo is located within a forest named Gotjawal, which contains mild temperatures and high humidity throughout the year. To accommodate this, the circular windows can be opened and closed, as though it was a real cocoon. I don’t know what the price tag will be, but money aside I’m curious to see what everybody thinks of the post-modern design.
The first phase of construction is set for September 2012 and is slated to be completed in 2015.

- We don’t all have the means to live in a fancy mansion or some huge apartment (especially in bigger cities) so we have to make due. Darrick Borowski and Danny Orenstein of Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture (JDPA) have done just that with this cozy East Village studio apartment in New York city. Completed in 2009, this apartment oasis was selected as the winner of the AIA’s (American Institute of Architects) 2010 Small Projects Award!
